NAME

New Kernel for the Notebook – Compiling a bleeding edge -mm kernel with all the goodies

DATE

April 23, 2006

DESCRIPTION

I am just about to compile myself a new kernel for my notebook. Of course, it should contain the latest and greatest (speak: most unstable) features on earth. So this task involves the following:

  1. Grab -mm (smurf has set up a git repository). Additionally, I needed to check out all tags in that repository (cogito did not do this by default), I still need to check out why.
  2. Patch in everything needful and eye-candy, like vesafb-tng, gensplash, Linux Processor Hardware Control to undervolt the Pentium-M.
